Dr. Ghaida M. Abdulsahib, and Dr. Ayman D. Salman, Academic staff members of Computer Engineering Department have published the research paper “An Adaptive intelligent Alarm system for wireless sensor Network” in the “Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science”. The purpose of the proposed system is to design an intelligent alarm system based on wireless sensor networks for smart houses. 

The head of computer engineering department (Prof. Dr. Eng. Ahmed S. Al Araji), his deputies, branches heads, and faculty members participated in an explanatory workshop regarding semesters system held under the auspices of the University President (Prof. Dr. Emad H. Al-Husseini) on Monday 30-9-2019 at the hall of Control and systems engineering department.

Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein G. Safi gave an orientational introductory lecture about the capability of implementing the semesters system at the university for the present academic year 2019-2020. This system provides flexibility in implementing and distributing the academic subjects over the studying period, also it provides more opportunities to the students to select the desired subjects, in order to keep pace with the global scientific development in the field of undergraduate studies.  

In order to facilitate the process of withdrawing the salaries of the university employees and increasing the withdrawal outlets, an ATM was activated in the computer engineering department in the presence of a committee from Al-Rasheed Bank - University of Technology, and Iraq E-Gate For Financial Services Company representative.

The Iraq E-Gate representative said that "all the University of Technology employees whether they have Al-Rasheed Bank or any other bank MasterCard can withdraw their salaries from this ATM"

The accepted postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) for the academic year 2019/2020 in the Computer Engineering Department have started preparatory phase on Sunday 15-9-2019, which announce the commencement of the new academic year.
