The postgraduate second semester final examinations for the academic year (2018-2019) started on Wednesday 29-5-2019 and will end on 20-6-2019. The department head (Prof. Dr. Ahmed S. Al-Araji), accompanied by the scientific deputy (Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan J. Hassan), went to see the examination process and ensure that it is conducted in the best conditions, in addition to providing positive atmosphere for the students who undertake the exams. Furthermore, guidance and advice were given to the academic staff and administrators of the examinations.

The undergraduate second semester final examinations for the academic year (2018-2019) started on Sunday 26-5-2019 and will end on 20-6-2019.

The University president (Prof. Dr. Ameen D. Al-Tamimy) accompanied by the Computer Engineering Department head (Prof. Dr. Ahmed S. Al-Araji) went to see the examination process and give guidance and advice regarding the exams. In addition, they urged the branches heads and faculty to make continuous efforts to ensure that it is conducted in the best condition, adhere to the examinations’ instructions, and provide positive atmosphere for the students.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the department has completed all the arrangements concerning maintenance and preparations of the examination halls to guarantee completing the process in excellent way.

The Computer Engineering Department had been awarded a trophy shield by the university presidency in the celebration of the university annual day on 17-April-2019, for excellence and quick responses in administrative and scientific paperwork.

This followed by awarding the Department head (Prof. Dr. Eng. Ahmed S. Abdel-Amir) by an appreciation certificate from the University of Technology President (Prof. Dr. Eng. Amin D. Thamer) for his promotion to the academic rank professor. In his speech, the department head expressed the academic staff delight for getting the outputs of their scientific and administrative labor through this academic year. Furthermore, he encouraged them to keep up the same approach of giving and serving the community and implementing and achieving all goals of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In addition, the department participated in the scientific project’s exhibition, by presenting a number of student’s projects which are completed during the academic year 2018-2019 under the supervision of faculty members (Asst. Prof. Dr. Eng. Mohammed N. Abdullah and Lecturer Mohammed A. Nadhum). The presented projects were linked to the requirements of the Iraqi labor market to serve our society and country.

In line with the vision and guidance of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Department of Computer Engineering held its second scientific workshop about the courses system on Tuesday, 9-April-2019, at the conference hall of the department.

The workshop presented, the system’s objectives and requirements, the syllabi preparation mechanism, determination process of compulsory and elective courses (university, college, department), and defining each course prerequisites and unique code assignment mechanism. Furthermore, the workshop deliberating about the instructions for courses registration, the withdrawal mechanism, transfer of students, the cumulative average calculation, and students’ academic counselling. The discussion also included instructions about the student's university number, the examination process, and the students' absences.

Furthermore, Asst. prof. Dr. Intisar A. Majid from the Elite University contributed her course system experience through a lecture. The department head (Prof. Dr. Eng. Ahmed S. Al-Araji) attended the workshop along with the other academic staff of the department.
